The crisis between Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel Wahab and the “Rotana” music production company has further intensified, as the company recently deleted 4 songs that the singer had posted on the Internet, with both parties accusing each other of contracts and breach of contract.

Abdul Wahab said in a press statement on Friday evening that “the contract would be void if the necessary publicity (advertising) was not carried out, which is equivalent to my size at the Arab and international level, because I delivered all the songs to them, but the publicity was not enough.”

She went on to say that the company had “violated” its contract with her, accusing her of “wanting to exploit Sherine Abdel Wahab exclusively in her concerts. The company refused to take the songs because they wanted to deal only with the concerts, which was not stipulated in the contract.”

She added: “I will never be the sole (producer) again.”

The singer also spoke about the crisis with the Saudi company: “I’m in a women’s prison and I miss it so much. I’m ready to go to prison normally. I’m trying the women’s prison experience myself … I’ll be a queen in prison”, and she returned: “I ask the state to protect me. “

As for Cairo Rotana Hotel’s legal counsel, Reda Abdel Fattah, he responded on the same show and called on Abdel Wahab to “enforce the terms of the contract.”

He said: “We signed a contract with Sherine Abdel Wahab in 2019, which gave Rotana exclusive rights from her 2 albums, 10 songs each, 2 video clips per album, and 3 concerts.”

He went on to say: “The contract was for 3 years, but it was stated in the contract that if the obligations were not met and the agreed 20 songs were not delivered, it could be extended for another period and the contract would remain in effect.”

Abdel Fattah accused the singer of not implementing the terms of the contract, which led the company to ask the Economic Court for a penalty clause, effectively obtaining 5 million Egyptian pounds in compensation from Abdel Wahab.

He stressed that “all works by the artist during the contract period belong to Rotana’s rights and the contract is currently valid.”

The crisis between the singer and the Saudi company intensified recently after she released 4 songs on the X platform and YouTube through her own account, following which the company took the necessary measures and succeeded in removing the songs from YouTube.

The 43-year-old Egyptian singer has never been far from crises, the most prominent of which was what happened with her ex-husband, singer Hossam Habib, whom she accused in an official police report earlier this month of attacking her and stealing her cell phone and money from her bag.

The two married in 2018, but their differences still surfaced from time to time. In late 2021, Abdel Wahab confirmed that she and her husband had separated.

She then appeared at a party in mid-2022 with a shaved head, later confirming that the reason was “the psychological pressure exerted on her by Khabib”, before revealing that “he assaulted her more than once by beating and insulting her”. He denies.

In November, after Abdul Wahab was hospitalized for drug rehabilitation, the two reconciled and tied the knot again.

Then, news came that differences arose between them in late 2023 and they broke up again.
