Special agents of the Puerto Rico Police Department, attached to the Caguas Regional Highway Patrol Division, reported a serious accident at approximately 6:50 pm on Monday, August 19, 2024, at kilometer 5 of Highway 183 in the municipality. Caguas.
According to the Uniform Report, a woman was identified as Glendalez Ortiz Torres50, a resident of Juncos, was driving around the area when Toyota CorollaIn 2018, when he reached the altitude of the aforementioned kilometer, his speed did not allow him to maintain control and mastery of the car and he crashed into the concrete wall.
Ortiz-Torres was taken by ambulance to Rio Piedras Medical Center in serious condition due to trauma.
Agent Cecilio Ayala is in charge of the investigation along with prosecutor Juan Goico.
Fire breaks out at Arecibo hardware store
The fire was reported at the Hermanos Barreto hardware store located on PR-2 kilometer 72.2 in the Cambalache community of Arecibo town around 8:53 pm on Monday.
According to police reports, the incident was reported through the 9-1-1 emergency system. Special agents from the Sabana Hoyos 207 Precinct, along with Arecibo City Police, Emergency Management and Arecibo State Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire at the hardware store.
It is understood that the damage was caused by a short circuit.
No one was injured at the scene.
Arecibo City Police Lt. Edwin Cortes is investigating and the Arecibo Regional Bomb Squad is continuing its investigation.
