As part of the Agdal tour, Meteor Airways will give several concerts in the UK. The Amazigh rock band from Tinerhir will play in Edinburgh, Birmingham, London, Liverpool and Manchester, meeting new audiences who will discover the band’s unique style of mixing ancestral music with contemporary sounds. In addition, dates are planned in Ireland, France and Morocco.

On this occasion, the band will promote its latest album, Agdal, which seeks to “pay homage to the ancient Amazigh system of sustainable land and water management”, two natural elements that are more than ever at the heart of the environment and the current climate. In this sense, “this tour not only highlights this innovative music, but also acts as a cultural bridge, connecting the British public with the values of the Amazigh community in Morocco,” explains the artistic group.

In addition, the Agdal album explores themes related to climate, resilience, and the urgency of protecting cultural and natural heritage. Through music, the band brings to life stories rooted in shared memories and shared futures, linked to natural spaces with strong civilizing symbolism, such as oases and the Atlas Mountains. Beyond the music, the work is described by the authors as “a call to action to protect ecosystems and cultural heritage that are essential for our future.”

Rachid Ennassiri, manager and member of Shooting Star Airlines, confessed that the trip to the UK was a “dream come true” for his training. “We are excited to share our music and the important message behind it with a new audience,” he said.

Since 2016, Meteor Aviation has attracted a growing and loyal audience thanks to “their unique blend of Amazigh rock” that makes them pioneers, inspired by Morocco’s ancestral heritage, “culture, history, global values and themes”. Last Julythe group received the award for Best Art Practice in the Mediterranean region at the CREACT4MED Best Practice Awards ceremony held in Barcelona (Spain).
