This was the first time that Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Stella Assange and Jennifer Robinson met after Julian Assange was released. They hugged each other excitedly and almost cried.
Nine o’clock meeting Sydney Morning Herald and age Assange fought back tears as he spoke to Wong during a series of media interviews with the Canberra bureau.

Huang asked Assange if he was okay and if he got enough sleep last night.
Assange responded: “I did, it was really exhausting.”
Australian lawyer Robinson said the release of the WikiLeaks founder “proved” Joshua Wong’s diplomatic skills.
“To be honest, successive governments here have not listened and have not taken any action, and this is your government,” Robinson said.
“It’s really important so yes it’s a very complex thing we have to negotiate but we can’t do it without the support of the Australian government. Thank you.”
Joshua Wong also praised Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for his proactiveness in resolving the issue of Assange’s detention.
“The prime minister deserves credit for being very aware of the importance of resolving this issue,” Mr Wong said.
The three hugged each other and then went into a private room, away from the growing media crowd, to continue their speeches.
