At the European Political Union Summit held in the UK, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky repeatedly spoke about EU support and what measures the EU should take to end the war.
Zelensky also spoke about Viktor Orban’s trip to Moscow, criticizing the Hungarian leader for talking to Putin about ending the war behind the EU’s back.
The war-torn country’s president said the EU could make the most important decisions to help Ukraine even without Orban.
We have achieved unity in Europe, we are acting together, which means that Putin has not achieved his main goal – he has not created divisions in Europe. We will maintain this unity and achieve lasting peace. Putin cannot have relations with really strong leaders, and this is our advantage, but this advantage exists only if we are united. He may try to talk to a particular leader, try to blackmail him, make him betray others, and thus weaken our unity. Yes, everyone chooses what kind of legacy he wants to leave, but if someone in Europe tries to solve problems behind someone else’s back, if someone wants to come to the war capital and talk about solving problems there at the expense of Ukraine’s interests, then why should the interests of this person be taken into account? It has been proven that both the EU and NATO can solve their own problems without this person,” Zelensky said.
