Ahmed Hachani’s term as head of government ends after one year (August 1, 2023). The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, has appointed Kamal Maduri to replace him in the Kasbah.
The 50-year-old lawyer, a graduate of ENA and the National Defense Institute (IDN), is currently Minister of Social Affairs (since May 25, 2024). He has extensive experience in the field of social security, having served as Chairman and CEO of the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) and previously as Chairman and CEO of the National Retirement and Social Security Fund (CNRPS).
The new head of government was born on January 25, 1974 in Tebour Souk and holds a PhD in Community Law and Maghreb-European Relations and a Master’s degree in Legal Sciences from the Second Faculty of Law, Political and Social Sciences of Tunisia.
Kamel Maddouri is a member of the National Social Dialogue Committee, Vice-President of the Committee’s Social Security Subcommittee, and a member of the boards of several state institutions, the General Insurance Board and the Administrative Board of three social funds.
He has also taught at the National School of Administration and the Higher School of Internal Security Forces.
He is married and the father of three children.
