We were all taken aback this past weekend when President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Kamala Harris for the nomination. Like everyone else, we are trying to quickly comprehend what this means, since Harris will almost certainly be the Democratic presidential nominee.
We expect the Harris campaign to roll out some official policy proposals in the coming weeks and months. But for now, all we have are some clues, small clues she’s left throughout her career that might give us a rough idea of what economic policies she might support.
Today on the show, we’re going to look back at three key moments in Harris’ political career that might shed some light on her economic agenda. First, the 2019 presidential primary debate, where she laid out her economic policies. Second, a vote during her time in the Senate that indicated where she might be on future trade deals. And finally, she took on some of the nation’s largest banks during her first year as California’s attorney general.
