Mexico City (apro) – The Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco) allows for formal complaints to be filed when a supplier does not respect the terms and conditions when signing a contract for services or goods, including cars.
As Chinese auto companies enter the Mexican market and continue to expand, Profeco has received some complaints. According to the agency’s Commerce Bureau, the reasons for customer dissatisfaction for the companies with the most complaints are as follows:
Grupo Chirey, a car agency and dealer, has a total of 98 complaints from 2022 to 2024, with the main reasons at the national level being: refusal to exchange or return goods, manufacturing defects, refusal to validate the guarantee, refusal to provide products or services, insufficient repairs, and refusal to terminate the contract.
SAIC Motors agents and dealerships received a total of 83 complaints from 2021 to 2024: refusal to validate warranty, manufacturing defects, repair defects, refusal to exchange or return goods, refusal to correct payment errors, refusal to deliver products or services, and refusal to return deposits.
Car agent and dealer Jiangling Motors has 14 complaints from 2020 to 2024: refusal to validate warranty, manufacturing defect, wrong product or service, refusal to deliver product or service, and repair defect
Car agent and dealer MG MOTORS From 2022 to 2024, there were 8 complaints: refusal to deliver products or services, marketing contracts for undetermined or undeterminable goods, manufacturing defects, refusal to deliver products or services, and refusal to manufacture products or services. Guarantee valid.
“These complaints can be due to three factors: the lack of knowledge among users, that is, their driving conditions; maintenance and spare parts services, because they need to integrate a model of how spare parts arrive every day and the promised delivery date, that is, arrival in two days, a week or a month,” explains Eric Ramirez, Latin American Urban Sciences Manager, to “El Universal”.
“The third factor is competition, as some brands have been servicing their vehicles in Mexico for years and consumers expect similar attention,” he added.
