WeTransfer has decided to change its handling of expired links, offering the possibility to extend the validity period of downloaded documents from the mobile application to 30 days.

“Can you send me the link again? It’s expired” is a fairly common phrase among WeTransfer users when they remember that they have some documents they need to download but the download time has ended.

The company has decided to take a different approach as it will allow recipients to modify the expiry date through the mobile app, extending it by up to 30 days. This is made possible through the new “Save for Later” feature.

Although the feature was launched on August 13, the company didn’t share the changes on the social network until Tuesday, saying they were going away.

However, as noted in TechCrunh, this functionality depends on the plan each user signs up for. Free accounts allow extensions of up to seven days, while paid accounts allow extensions of up to 30 days.
