July 8, 2024. – The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANb) publicly opposes the statement of the group that calls itself “Self-Defense of the Conquerors of the Sierra Nevada”, which guarantees that “the Venezuelan extreme right has contacted them to launch an attack on the country’s electricity infrastructure and other services before the presidential elections.”
Faced with this alleged plan, Fanb said that “this is a radical section of the Venezuelan right”, accusing the group of wanting to create violence before the presidential elections in Venezuela in 20 days, and affirming that they seek to “create a feeling of civil war,” said a statement.
“Now, on the eve of election day, they are once again showing their anti-democratic side, which they try to use to hide their real fascist face. It should be noted that for their evil interests they have always had the advice and cooperation of North American government bodies, which do not rely on their evil ambitions to put an end to the Bolivarian project through the well-known model of forced regime change,” they pointed out.
It is worth remembering that after the spread of information about the “conquest of the Sierra Nevada Self-Defense Forces”, President Maduro asked the public sector to conduct an investigation. Shortly afterwards, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced that the State Prosecutor’s Office83 would be in charge of investigating the allegations.
The Fanb statement stressed that the military will provide security in the “2024 Presidential Election Operation” to safeguard the elections.
“We will not tolerate any actions that threaten the normal development of this process, and we will act forcefully, within the framework of the Constitution and the law, and within the humanitarian character that characterizes us, to guarantee the security of the Venezuelan people, their peace and their democracy. We will remain vigilant against destabilizing plans and will ensure the total defense of our beloved country at all costs,” said Padrino López.
