Warren Madrigal has lived as a veteran for a week. The former Saprissa striker was loaned to Valencia in Spain, the team that sent him to their subsidiary: Valencia Mestalla. After his first goal and first game, Tico made a statement to the official media of the club.

Warren was well aware that, like a child transferring schools, he felt anxious upon arriving at the Che campus.

This is the first experience of the national team outside of Costa Rica after the national leagues of Saprissa and Sporting CP.

The footballer showed his most sensitive side when asked about his family, moving to Europe and being separated from his loved ones.

“The first few days were a bit strange. It’s a new country and new life for me, but my colleagues supported me in the best way and I’m already feeling better,” he said.

Madrigal assured that the first goal in the friendly against Real Zaragoza gave him confidence, especially since he is going through an accelerated adaptation process.

“Goals are very important. My job is to score them. The truth is, I feel very good, my colleagues are behind me and I already feel like a human being again,” he commented.

Warren assured that he always prioritizes the future of Valencia, especially because of the club’s significance at the Spanish and European level.

“When they told me if I wanted to come here, it was a very nice fantasy. I’m very happy that in the end it happened. I will continue to work hard day by day, always stay humble and do my best to improve every day,” he explained.

Madrigal noted that his arrival fits the rhythm given to him by Saprissa’s pre-season, but he still has a week and a half to get into the dynamic that Valencia Mestalla coach Miguel Angulo wants.

The whistleblower announced that he witnessed the weekend’s Valencia vs Barcelona match. Warren’s eyes were bright, emphasizing that the atmosphere was spectacular and he was looking forward to the opportunity to play at Mestalla.
