The man wanted for the attack on two women riding their bicycles alone in Utrecht has been arrested in Maastricht.
Police said the manDutch media said the man was named Michael van H and was arrested near the train station before 11 p.m.
They released his picture on Thursday evening and the next day a picture of his car, which was found abandoned in Roermond.
A police spokesman told NOS broadcaster that officers had used “digital resources” to find out if the man had left any evidence that would indicate where he was. The clues led to Maastricht, where he was arrested.
Police began hunting the man on Monday evening after he knocked a 19-year-old woman off her bicycle in the east of the city. The woman managed to escape. A similar incident took place in Utrecht a few days earlier.
