We continue with the summer festivals, where the music scene allows us to discover the richness of the landscape. Like the I Suoni delle Dolomiti event, now in its 29th edition, music is spreading among the peaks of Trentino. Like Le Dimore del Quartetto, which this week takes us to the Val d’Orcia in Tuscany. Like the Elba Music, which introduces us to the beauty of Portoferraio and other towns on the island, with a combination of music and nature, art and history; opens the program of Martha Argerich.

Casa Nardi – San Quirico Val d’Orcia

S. QUIRICO VAL D’ORCIA (SI)

On the 21st, the Phoenix Trio gives a concert at the Casa dell’Abate Naldi, with music by Schubert and Brahms. The Casa dell’Abate Naldi, also known as Palazzo Simonelli Santi, was built in the 17th century for Matteo Naldi, Sienese doctor, scientist and architect to Pope Alexander VII Chigi. Thus continues the appointment of Dimore del Quartetto, a creative enterprise that supports young international string quartets at the start of their careers and enhances the heritage of historical European buildings. Next concert: August 26 in Siena, Church of Sant’Agostino

“Listening, Dolomites, Sounds, Open Spaces, Silence, Light, Heights, Walking, Commitment, Sharing, Respect, Accessibility, Tradition”: Here are the main points of the manifesto of the Voice of the Dolomites, the festival now in its 29th edition, which takes place from August 28th to September 29th in the mountains of Trentino. A musical walk between the peaks, a month of concerts in spaces accessible to the public on foot, with musicians to listen to world music, classical music, songwriting, jazz, the encounter between music and literature. It starts with world music, or more precisely with Fado: on the 28th, in the natural amphitheatre of Malga Tassulla around Pian della Nana, in the northernmost part of the Brenta Dolomites, Carminho appears, one of the most talented Fado singers in the world. The generations that follow will take the poignant poetry of Portuguese musical excellence to the skies. Among the many events we remember the “classic” of the festival, the walking tour: three days of sound and text from September 4 to 6 in the Rock Center of Palermo di San Martino, where an ideal bridge will be built between the mountains through the words of the writer Paolo Cognetti and the songs of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash and other myths of the “Star-Spangled Banner”, interpreted by the voice and guitar of Pietro Brunello and the cello of Mario Brunello, between Trentino and the American wasteland.

Elba Island – Roman Villa delle Grotte

Elba Island

From August 30th to September 14th, the 28th Festival takes place in Portoferraio and in other cities of Elba, Capoliveri, Rio de Janeiro, Marciana and Marciana Marina. With the union of music and nature, art and history, and a dialogue between different repertoires, styles and sounds, from chamber music and symphony to jazz and Brazilian music. Among the many concerts we remember the pianist Martha Argerich in the 30th Concerto n. 1 Beethoven.
