MP Mile Lefkov, a member of the party’s executive committee, said at a press conference today that the former minister, whom she called “Pearl Antoinette”, spent £714 on personal expenses during a four-day business trip to London last October. Lefkov said that in addition to the hotel accommodation expenses, she also included the bill for the national team in her travel bill.
“However, when checking the contents of the deputies’ accounts and checking the accounts attached to the official visa cards, it was discovered that budget funds were improperly used. Bisera Antoinette spent 714 pounds, 89 pounds alone for personal needs, buying a football and a teddy bear, all paid for with the official visa card. Bisera Antoinette’s shopping spree did not stop there, but continued in the famous Samsonite luggage store, where the minister decided to replace herself with two suitcases with budget funds, one large one with an official card amounting to 219 pounds and the other small. One piece from the same line, for the amount of 59 pounds, was paid in cash with official funds, Levkov noted.
He said Kostadinovska-Stoichevska used people’s money to go shopping at Mark & Spencer, where she spent £42 on socks and tights that were paid for with official funds.
“In a gift shop in London, 146 euros were spent with the official visa card, for which no receipt was submitted, only the slip from the payment card. Warner Bros. Pictures also spent 158 pounds in cash from official funds for the Harry Potter tour, on gifts such as gloves, T-shirts, pet bags, lost headpieces, etc. “In summary, for personal private needs, Bisela Antoinette spent 714 pounds in four days in London, or 511.69 million dinars in dinar monetary assets, which could feed a family of four in Macedonia for a month,” Levkov added.
He also pointed out that according to the decree, the Minister of Culture’s monthly expenditure shall not exceed the dinar equivalent of 60 euros, which shall be paid into the state treasury within seven days after the end of the cultural festival.
“Pearl Antoinette exceeded her allowed limit so many times that within a few months she was deeply in debt,” Lefkoff said.
As he put it, this is the first of “the revelations of the ‘Pearl Antoinette’ scandal in a series of press conferences that will take place in the coming days, through which they will present the “splendour and splendor of Kostadinovska-Stoichevska’s life and service”.
