The 2024 ABU Robocon 2024 competition day will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television Channel 2 (VTV2) and Japan’s NHK TV digital platforms on August 25.
The event will be held in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province in the north, and 13 teams from 12 countries and regions have registered to participate, including two teams from Vietnam.
All teams will compete on the theme of “Harvest Day”, which is inspired by terraced farming. In the competition, robots will compete to complete tasks within the specified time.
The competition was founded in 2002 by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) to build friendships among like-minded young people who will lead their countries in the 21st century, and to help promote engineering and broadcasting technology in the region.
Last year, Japan won the Grand Prix of the competition, followed by Hong Kong, China. Vietnam and China took third place respectively at the 2023 ABU Robotics Competition held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
