In order to revitalize the vanilla industry in the Analanjirofo region, the Ministry of Industrialization and Trade (MIC) recently announced a major change in the calendar of vanilla events. Following an urgent request from the Analanjirofo region, Ambodimanga town mayor, Ramialison Ratombondrainy, chairperson of the Maroantsetra District Mayors Group, the event has been scheduled to start on July 10, the 2024 harvest season.
This decision is the result of close collaboration with local growers and operators, with the main goal of improving the conditions for the production and marketing of this spice for the benefit of all stakeholders involved. The latter thus expressed their enthusiasm for this new decision and their belief that the new season looks promising.
This modification should promote better planning of the sector and optimal coordination between the different stakeholders, as the stakeholders see its objective as guaranteeing positive benefits for growers, operators and the entire community associated with this emblematic sector of Madagascar. This should therefore make it possible to find a favorable outcome for this sector that has suffered over the years due to various problems.
