A UN official confirmed that humanitarian activities had been halted after Israel issued new evacuation orders for the Deir el-Balah area late Sunday.
According to Bloomberg, Israel’s evacuation order for the Deir el-Balah area poses a huge challenge to the delivery of aid and the distribution of polio vaccines. This is the first time the polio virus has appeared in the area in 25 years. The United Nations suspended humanitarian operations in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday. Reported.
A UN official confirmed that humanitarian activities had been halted following Israel’s new evacuation order, according to the US news website release on Sunday night at Deir Al-Balah.
“While the UN has not formally ordered a halt, in reality it cannot deliver any aid, the source said, adding that the UN is in touch with Israeli officials in the hope of resuming operations as soon as possible,” the report said.

On Monday, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) expressed deep concern over Israel’s evacuation order, stressing that it affects 15 housing facilities for UN staff and NGO staff, as well as four UN warehouses, all located within or near the evacuation zone.
OCHA warned that the decision would disrupt the operations of the comprehensive humanitarian hub established in Deir el-Balah following the evacuation of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip last May.
The United Nations confirmed that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) would continue its efforts but admitted that the aid provided was just a “drop in the ocean” compared to the huge needs.
UNRWA has described the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic”, with Israeli tanks, bombs and air strikes surrounding Gaza families and forcing them to flee.
