The US Deputy Secretary of State declared this Wednesday (July 31) at a special session of the Organization of American States (OAS) that Edmundo González is the legitimate winner of Venezuela’s recent elections, citing “overwhelming evidence” supporting this conclusion.

According to the deputy minister, President Nicolás Maduro has not yet officially recognized the result. “It seems that Nicolás Maduro does not want to recognize that Edmundo González won the election in Venezuela,” he commented.

Furthermore, he validated the electoral records provided by the Unified Platform, noting that they are authentic and reflect the true will of the Venezuelan people.

The deputy minister also accused Maduro’s government of trying to manipulate the results. “Maduro needs to forge documents to support his claims.”

The international community continues to closely follow the situation in Venezuela, with concerns about the country’s stability and respect for democracy. The Deputy Minister stressed the determination of the Venezuelan people to restore their rights. “Venezuelans are determined to regain their freedom after years of setbacks,” he concluded.
