The United States imposed sanctions on Houthi financiers and six companies backed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force and banned three of its ships for involvement in providing illicit revenue to support Houthi activities.

The United States has imposed sanctions on one individual and six companies, and seized three vessels, for their involvement in activities to generate illicit revenue to support the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
“The United States has imposed sanctions on Saeed Jamal, a Houthi financier supported by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Quds Force, and six companies, and banned three of their vessels for their involvement in providing illicit revenue to support Houthi destabilizing activities in the region,” the State Department said in a statement Thursday.
The statement added that “sanctions were also imposed on another company and its four vessels linked to Hezbollah official Mohammad Qassem Bazar, and tens of millions of dollars worth of Iranian liquefied natural gas shipments were also banned.”
He stressed that the United States of America will continue to use every tool at its disposal to confront the Houthi militias and deprive them of the revenue they earn from their Iranian-backed attacks on international shipping.
The statement noted that the United States has imposed sanctions on dozens of entities, individuals and vessels linked to Jamal’s network since the Houthis began attacks on Red Sea navigation last year.
The network’s revenues finance the Houthi terrorist militia’s reckless attacks on vital waterways and assaults on civilian infrastructure, with disastrous consequences for the Yemeni people and, first and foremost, serving an Iranian agenda that has nothing to do with supporting the Gaza and Palestinian people.
