Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said “election fraudsters” will be jailed if he is re-elected in November, and mentioned Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg by name.
Trump posted on his own social media platform Truth Social that if he is elected president, he will track down election fraudsters with unprecedented force and send them to jail. He also said, “We already know who you are, don’t do this! ZUCKERBUCKS (referring to Zuckerberg using donations to influence the election) be careful!”
In fact, Trump and Zuckerberg have been feuding for a long time. In February last year, Trump accused Zuckerberg of cheating in the election and posted a link to a report that Zuckerberg donated $2 million to the Georgia Election Commission and called on the authorities to investigate.
In addition, Trump was banned from using Facebook after the riots at the U.S. Capitol Hill in 2021. Zuckerberg stated at the time that the risk of allowing Trump to continue using Facebook was too great, and the ban was lifted in January last year.
