Professor of Politics and International Relations, Dr. Sana Zakhaneh, Official Statement The Americans and Israelis are close to reaching an agreement and a “representative” exchange.

Dr. Zakana explained:Banner“What is happening today, Sunday, is a massive push by the U.S. and Israeli media to reach a deal, with the goal of pleasing Israel and dictating its terms.

Zakane said none of the main outstanding issues, such as the withdrawal of occupation forces and the cessation of aggression in Gaza, had been discussed, but only some issues concerning the number of prisoners.

She believes that Hamas and the resistance factions realize that what is happening is “U.S. propaganda” aimed at making them responsible for obstructing the ceasefire, and she asked: “Why propose a new framework when one was already approved before?”

She explained that the United States wants to please Netanyahu and secure a victory for him.

Zakaneh reported that the ongoing negotiations without the participation of Hamas are aimed at cooling down the reaction of Iran and the resistance axis to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh.

She said the United States wants Egyptian and Qatari mediators to participate in the current negotiations because they represent the Hamas movement and hope they can escape U.S. hostility because they enjoy a high level of diplomatic ability.

Zakane said the current situation is far from a ceasefire agreement, explaining that Netanyahu has a strategic goal of prolonging the war to achieve his goals, and he also refuses to withdraw troops from the Philadelphia Axis.

Zakana said the United States wanted to reach an exchange agreement in the first phase just to exchange some dual-nationality prisoners before the US election, but Hamas and the resistance factions knew this well.
