Bush (CVN 77)recently deployed the world’s firstUnmanned Aerial Warfare Center (UAWC)The aircraft pilot (AVP) will sit in the control room and remotely control the launch of the unmanned aerial refueling tanker on the carrier.MQ-25The UAWC-operated network will be tested at sea for the first time early next year, along with other types of drones.

The MQ-25 aircraft developed by Boeing is the first unmanned aircraft to be deployed on a U.S. aircraft carrier for combat missions. The U.S. military will form a fleet of 76 aircraft to meet the needs of aerial refueling missions and eventually replace the current F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter jets used for aerial refueling.
