University board appoints new authority

Tegucigalpa– The University Governing Council of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) (JDU) has provided the swearing-in of the Vice-President Academic, the Vice-President International Relations, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Accounting Sciences; the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Engineering, and the Rector of the National Autonomous Technical University of Danilo.

Likewise, he reported on the appointment of members of the Management Control Board, all of which are appointed for a four-year term.

The position of Academic Vice-Rector was awarded by the Master’s degree of the University of Lourdes Murcia, Dr. Javier Padilla was elected Vice-Rector for International Relations, Adrián López as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Marcela Rivera as Dean of the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Accounting Sciences.

Likewise, Lidia Suyapa Cálix, Jaime Neptalí Valerio of the Humanities and Arts Department were sworn in as directors of UNAH-Tec Danlí.

Regarding the Control and Management Committee, professionals were sworn in: Manuel Jonathan Miranda Lazo and Rafael Antonio Núñez Solorzano.

It is worth mentioning that the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs has the authority to coordinate, supervise and evaluate activities such as teaching, research, social relations, administrative and academic guidance, teaching training and certification, and replace the president in case of absence or temporary impossibility.

The Vice-President for International Relations is responsible for representing UNAH in foreign institutions and international organizations. This Vice-President’s Office has the authority to organize, direct, monitor and regularly evaluate the University’s compliance with agreements, treaties and other forms of cooperation and collaboration established with foreign institutions and international organizations.

The Management Control Board is responsible for UNAH’s planning, finances and legacy assessments and reports directly to the University’s Board of Trustees. silver
