Ukraine will be able to produce independently Norway 155 mm shells. The corresponding license was provided by the Norwegian-Finnish company Nammo, said Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin. telegraph.

– Negotiations with the Norwegian-Finnish Nammo have been going on for a long time – I am pleased to announce that today the Norwegian government not only allowed the transfer of a license for the production of NATO-caliber shells to a Ukrainian company, but also agreed to finance this process. This is already the second license for the production of 155-caliber shells in Ukraine – the first was issued by KNDS/Nexter,” he noted.

Kamyshin assured that Ukraine will always be grateful for the help provided by its partners in the form of shells, but even more grateful for the support of local production. The minister stressed that it is important to produce more shells in Ukraine both from the point of view of efficiency and logistics, and from an economic point of view.

  • Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has received a number of artillery installations designed to use 155mm shells from its partners. But since they are used in large numbers on the front lines, the demand for them has always existed. At the beginning of this year, Ukraine had a serious shortage of ammunition. The reason for this was that the US Congress did not allocate funds for military aid to Ukraine for several months.
  • Norway has joined the Ukrainian air defense alliance. Norway’s defense minister signed a letter of intent with his German counterpart, who leads the alliance.
