The Dunga Municipal Market in the city of Uige, in the province of the same name, will be rehabilitated over the next six months, with works estimated at 85 million kwanzas.
This Friday, the 16th, the municipal authorities and the company in charge of the project signed the commissioning agreement for the market restoration work in Uige.
Municipal official José Raimundo Teca said the consignment marked the beginning of work that will provide better health conditions for people who frequent the market within six months.
“We challenged ourselves to create the Dunga Market. What we want to say is that for the success of this work, we must unite in order to unconditionally cooperate, protect and support the contractors who will carry out this work throughout the period.”
Regarding the cost of the project, the administrator said that it amounts to 85 million kwanzas, which he considers “a challenging amount given the situation we are going through, but we will achieve it and we have sufficient sources guaranteed” of contractors.
The work, being carried out by Cheng Prosper International, will be carried out in two phases.
The company representative, Victorino Pedro Mayeto, assured that he would strive to complete the task within the contract period.
“In the first phase, with the agreement of the municipality and our company, the fence wall will be implemented, extending an area of 44 square meters, constituting the covered area of the bench area, and the market nave of 26 square meters, which also includes the construction of administrative areas and toilets for all users”, he explained to the local media, detailing the model.
The official went on to say that in the second phase of work, construction work on auxiliary areas is planned, such as kiosks, a bank branch and several shops.
