KAMPALA, July 17 (Xinhua) — Uganda Airlines, the national airline of Uganda, announced on the 17th that it will open three new routes to the capitals of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria in September 2024.

Uganda Airlines CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki said at a launch ceremony in the Ugandan capital Kampala on Wednesday that the new flights will enhance Uganda’s connectivity with the rest of Africa.

“The launch of the new route is a milestone in our continued contribution to intra-African travel. The establishment of air bridges to West and Southern Africa will bring the convenience of direct flights and seamless connectivity to travelers across the continent, bringing multiple opportunities for business, trade, tourism and socio-cultural ties,” Bamuturaki said.

The airline currently flies to Kenya, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia, South Sudan, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, India, Burundi and Nigeria’s largest city, Lagos.
