During the meeting, Tony Elumelu congratulated the Head of State on his election as President of Senegal. “We come to congratulate the President of the Republic on his excellent election. As the UBA Group, we are proud to have a long-term client leading this great country and we have reiterated to him our desire to work with his Government to contribute to the economic development of Senegal.”
The UBA Group CEO also expressed his desire to strengthen the strategic partnership with Senegal, especially in the fields of oil and youth empowerment. “The President has shared some ideas about economic transformation and we want to support him in this effort. UBA Group will continue to support African Refining Company and we are ready to do more in the oil sector,” said Tony Elumelu.
Furthermore, Mr. Elumelu stressed the importance of Senegalese youth to the Tony Elumelu Foundation, which has supported more than 200 young Senegalese entrepreneurs. He concluded: “Senegal will see, under the leadership of His Excellency President Faye, the country will benefit from increased support in economic empowerment through the UBA Group and the Tony Elumelu Foundation.”
The visit marks a new milestone in the relationship between Senegal and the UBA Group and reaffirms Tony Elumelu’s commitment to supporting Senegal towards a sustainable economic transformation.
