Two Bishkek city councilors demand the removal of one-way streets on Suyumbayev and Gogol Streets

AKIPRES.COM – On May 23, two members of the Bishkek City Council, Rysbay Amatov and Saidakmat Ismailov, asked at a committee meeting to change the one-way streets on Gogol and Suyumbaev streets.

Amatov criticized the decision, citing increased traffic congestion and complaints from residents.

Bishkek Transport Minister Ulanbek Beishenbaev defended the move, citing recommendations from academics and reports on reducing traffic congestion.

Izmailov echoed Amatov’s concerns, urging the restoration of two-way traffic.

Since December 27, the sections of Gogol Street and Suyunbayev Street have become one-way streets: the section of Gogol Street from Gumabek Street to Moskva Street (from north to south), Suyunbayev Street Section from Moskva Street to Gibekcholu Street (from south to north).
