A unique object from the Urartu era is located in the province of Elazig

In Turkey, restoration work has been completed on a nearly 2,800-year-old water tank from the Kingdom of Urartu, which was discovered in the fortress of Haput in Eastern Anatolia (Elažır Province).

Ismail Aytaç, head of the archaeological work, said the site will be open to tourists after a road leading to it is built.

“This reservoir is the largest in Turkey’s natural rock. When the water inside runs out, it is used to store food,” said Ismail Etachi.
