Turkish Foreign Ministry’s statement on Azerbaijan parliamentary elections

Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reportedly issued a statement on the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan Japanese. Az As far as the Ministry is concerned.

“We hope that the recent parliamentary elections will benefit brotherly Azerbaijan. The elections held in all territories of Azerbaijan, including the lands liberated from occupation, are of historic significance. The Azerbaijani people expressed their will, which will contribute to the establishment of permanent peace and stability in the South Caucasus.”

Let’s recall that on June 28, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the parliament of the 6th National Assembly and calling for early parliamentary elections. By order of the 6th National Assembly, the parliament was dissolved and early elections were scheduled for September 1.

There are 6,421,960 voters in Azerbaijan. The number of voters who were 18 years of age or older on election day was 374. There were 6,478 polling stations (6,343 permanent and 135 temporary).

There are 54 permanent posts in the territories liberated from occupation. There are 10 IDP constituencies. The number of IDP polling stations is 574 and the number of voters is 397,862.

112,000 local observers, 749 of whom registered to observe the early parliamentary elections, more than 65,000 of whom were representatives of political parties.

The number of registered international observers is 598. These observers represent 51 organizations in 69 countries.
For the early parliamentary elections, 227 OSCE/ODIHR observers and 61 OSCE Palestinian Authority observers were registered.

Of the 990 registered candidates for the parliamentary elections, 305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Although 371 candidates are members of political parties, they are not nominated by their respective parties. A total of 676 candidates have a party affiliation.
