Sami Mekki, CEO of Tunisia Post, died on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

The deceased was appointed Director General of the Tunisian Post Office in August 2020. He previously served as General Manager of the Local Authorities Loan and Support Fund (CPSCL).

Sami Mekki is a graduate in Economics and studied at the National School of Administration (ENA) in Tunisia and the National School of Taxation (ENI) in France.

He worked at the Ministry of Finance for twenty years, contributing to reforms affecting local finances and was one of the drafters of Tunisia’s local tax code.

In April 2014, he was appointed General Manager of a financial institution specializing in financing investments in Tunisia’s cities.

Mr. Meki is also an academician and has written extensively on local finance. He teaches at the University of Tunis.
