08-23-24.-The NGO Provea denounced on Thursday an illegal ruling by the Venezuelan Supreme Court (TSJ) that consolidates electoral fraud in Venezuela and ignores the will of millions of Venezuelans who chose to save their democracy.
“In addition to stopping the persecution and human rights violations in Venezuela, the international community must reject this verdict and demand international verification of a valid record,” he said in a statement published on his X e account. Instagram.
Likewise, he pointed out that despite the lack of transparency in the publication of the minutes, there is no doubt that the TSJ Electoral Council supports the statement of the National Electoral Council (CNE) regarding the “re-election” of Nicolás Maduro. “This ruling supports the CNE, ignores complaints of irregularities, and shows the complicity of the judiciary in the Venezuelan justice system,” he warned.
“If this crisis is not resolved, abuses will become part of our daily life. State repression, the economic, social, political and human rights crises will worsen, and millions of Venezuelans who only want democracy and peace will migrate,” they warned.
The NGO recalled the statements of the Venezuelan delegation at the United Nations, which clearly stated that the lack of independence of the TSJ and the CNE contributes to the repressive mechanisms of the State.
To this end, it alerted the International Criminal Court (ICC) to the systematic policy of repression that has led to the detention of thousands, the murder of 24 people and the forced disappearance of 40 people during protests against the CNE results.
