A video released by US media TMZ on Saturday showed a gunman lying on a roof with a rifle in his hand and then screaming.
U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot in the ear by a gunman at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
According to US media reports, the FBI confirmed that the gunman shot dead by the US Secret Service was Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, New York.
Video posted by TMZ showed the gunman crouching on the roof, aiming his rifle.
According to TMZ , “The man has longer brown hair and appears to be wearing a gray shirt and khaki pants — as you can see, he is carefully aiming at a target in the distance before pulling the trigger.”
The video released does not show the man firing a gun, but continuous gunshots can be heard, followed by screams from people outside the camera.
“He’s turning this way, everybody be careful,” a man can be heard saying in the video.
“Somebody’s been shot,” another voice said. “There he is, lying there.”
“This is exactly why we need Trump, man,” another man said.
Another man said: “The Secret Service doesn’t mess around.”
A second video posted by TMZ shows shaky footage and blurred bodies on the same rooftop.
“You can see the guy there,” one person off camera said. “I think they hit him because he looked dead.”
Another video posted by a TikTok user showed Trump touching his right ear after hearing multiple loud bangs.
In the same frame, a security forces sniper stands on a rooftop behind the Republican presidential candidate, aiming a rifle mounted on a stand.
AFP has not independently verified the videos and it was unclear whether the sniper fired any shots.
Then, Secret Service agents approached Trump, who was crouching behind a podium. Screams were heard from the crowd.
He then left the stage accompanied by his agent.
