All eyes are on coastal areas as Tropical Storm Debbie moves toward coastal areas with the potential for impact this weekend.

The slow-moving storm has already caused catastrophic flooding in Florida, where it made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane on Monday. At least four people were killed.

The system is moving across the southeastern United States, with forecasts calling for record rainfall and flash flooding.

Global Meteorologist Ross Hull said the remnants of Debbie will move into Atlantic Canada later this week.

He added that there was still “large uncertainty” in the forecast due to weak atmospheric guidance conditions over the next few days.

“The hurricane will pick up speed this weekend, and its exact path will depend on how the remnants of Debbie interact with the cold front moving through Ontario and Quebec,” Hull said.
