Mexico City (apro) – Tropical Storm Alberto has claimed its first victims.
As the hurricane continued to move toward Tamaulipas, heavy rains hit Nuevo León until Wednesday evening, killing three minors.
In a television interview, Gov. Samuel Garcia confirmed the deaths of two children in Allende and a young man in Monterrey.
“The first rains have already claimed lives. The strongest are about to arrive and we call on all Nuevo León residents to take care of themselves and not leave their homes,” the governor asked in an account from X.

The Santa Catarina and La Silla rivers were “full of a lot of water,” emecista reported. “The message is to be safe because this is only the beginning,” he said.
“Unfortunately, three minors were playing and three deaths could have been avoided, and we urge parents to be very careful,” the governor said in an interview.
Samuel Garcia foresees the entity suspending work, transport and circulation.
“We are about to publish an agreement in the official newspaper to suspend work, transport and circulation from 10:00 this evening to 12:00 tomorrow noon to avoid any risk caused by the storm. Hospitals, shelters and refuges remain open.”

According to local media reports, a teenager drowned in Monterrey and two other minors were electrocuted in Allende.
The young man was identified as Azael Alberto, 15 years old. According to preliminary versions, he was playing football in a nearby park until the ball fell into the La Silla River. When he tried to retrieve the ball, he was swept away by the current. He was rescued from the water unconscious and Civil Protection rescuers tried to revive him. However, the minor died.
Likewise, in Allende’s Colonia Los Álamos, two other 12-year-olds died of electrocution. According to preliminary reports, they were playing in the street.
They were identified as José Alfredo Ledezma Salazar and Tadeo Alexandre González Ledezma, according to the municipal civil protection department.
