If it is true that a lot was accomplished in a year, more through the energy of the CNSP than through the chosen people, some of whom were not convinced in their fields, then it is our duty, for all the successes expected from the events of July 26, 2023, to make a serious diagnosis of the governance of the year, to see what did not go so well and to be able to raise the bar, where appropriate, to inspire new energy, more epic, towards a new journey for the Motherland.
After a year, we realize that there are still those who predict the end of the country, who laugh while worrying about the collapse of Niger, perhaps thinking that if anything bad happens to the country, how can we not raise this issue? They should be protected from this. After a year of cooperation, it is undoubtedly time for the CNSP to understand who is who and truly understand what and who is needed to lead it forward at such a complex moment in the country’s history. The whole country knows that in the government, there are ministers who do not move, and there are ministers who, even if they give a sense of activity, are just marking time, managing within clans and not even by region. In their entities, with royal contempt, they only deal with the small parental world they brought to feed themselves. Niger is a country and a republic that cannot be run with such subjective considerations, which will eventually endanger the survival of the country. It is regrettable that after the regime was forced to leave, among those who came, there were some who came only to make money, so when the Nigerien soldiers took over, they also condemned the same practices. As we listen to President Abdulrahman Tiyani, we can only be sure that he has arrived in the history and legend of a country that needs new heroes to create and rewrite its own history, to compose a new epic of glory after decades of degradation and domination. With great ambitions for the country, General Tiyani can no longer bear with everyone and there is no doubt that he wants to have a team of his own, based on the integrity and capabilities of the men and women who still have to realize the great designs of Niger. This country, which has all the gold, all the uranium, all the oil, all the resources (especially water), and all the strength and wisdom of the young people of its people, can no longer continue to rank last on the planet. The time for rectification seems to have arrived, and time has gone against the country before the impatience of the people is manifested.
For a long time, there have been rumors that the CNSP, dissatisfied with the performance of certain ministers, including some with bad tempers, is considering a comprehensive reform of the government, which could disrupt the current structure of the government and its rather heterogeneous composition. This has led to a lack of coherence and dynamism in the actions of the government, with everyone talking only about certain things, standing in their own corner looking for their own way to enrich themselves, forgetting the challenges facing a country that dreams of becoming better with the world. Some take advantage of the activism of certain whistleblowers and other mercenary journalists to be bombarded with praise and free publicity, forgetting that they are judged on results, and not on the flattery, greed and interest of those who sell their words for a few subsidies. On social networks, some even surprise their readers with a dramatic turnaround, positioning themselves as official praisers of those whose administration they began to criticize a few months ago, risking disgusting their readers with this inconsistency.
What changes would make sense? According to our sources, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, could give up his ministerial portfolio to another person in charge of the Ministry of Finance in order to devote himself fully to government action, this time as the head of the government. The Ministry of National Education, Literacy, Vocational Education and Promotion of National Languages is said to be too big for one person and could be split in two, returning to its original structure and reorganizing the departments of professional education and education. Certain actors have made demands. The leadership merged the two entities, leaving those from professional education with the impression that their concerns were forgotten and diluted in the overall national education, while technical and professional training also faces its own challenges and its own realities that require more specific governance.
