Timor-Leste’s Investment and Export Promotion Agency IP (TradeInvest) attended the 8th ASEAN Business Conference (SABC 2024) held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, on 25-26 July 2024. TradeInvest’s Investment Promotion Director Ezaquiel Babo was one of the main speakers at the event. 
The conference focused on key challenges facing ASEAN such as market access, regional economic integration and promoting entrepreneurship. SABC 2024 brought together 20 speakers from the ASEAN region, 500 participants from 23 countries and 200 international delegates.
On the second day of the event, Ezaquiel Babo spoke on the topic “Trade and investment opportunities in Timor-Leste in the context of ASEAN integration”. In his speech, he highlighted investment opportunities in Timor-Leste, with a particular emphasis on the food industry, agriculture, tourism, strategic infrastructure and other promising sectors. 
Meanwhile, TradeInvest also participated in the 4th Selangor Investment Park (SPARK) 2024, which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from July 25 to 27, 2024. This annual event is dedicated to promoting investment opportunities and industrial development, bringing together the government, investors, entrepreneurs and industry professionals. 
The TradeInvest delegation was led by Director Ezaquiel Babo and also included External Relations and Communications Manager Bernardete Maria Afonso dos Santos, Export Promotion Manager Josefina Correia Araújo and Technical Professionals Maria José Fernandes and Brigida Soares da Silva.
