Michael Toyota Nuwajira, national vice chairman of the Uganda Patriotic Union, called on domestic opposition groups to join the organization and participate in nation-building.

Nuwajira made the remarks today before tens of thousands of supporters at the Buma Ground in Hoima County, congratulating General Muhoozi Kenerugaba, the National Chairman of the UPDF, on his appointment as Commander of the UPDF.
“I call on you, the people of Hoima, not to join the opposition and do not listen to their lies. Only the National Resistance Movement government understands your needs and knows your plans,” Mr Nuwajira said amid cheers from PLU supporters.
The JEM party top leader also assured the people of Hoima that the National Resistance Movement government will still be in office for many more years to promote prosperity and change for its citizens, hence asking them to continue to support the party chairman, Paka President Yoweri Museveni.
Toyota Nuwagira, who was accompanied by other PLU bigwigs, further commended the hundreds of opposition members who abandoned their original political parties to join the PLU and spread the gospel of the PLU across the country.
“I am glad that more members of the opposition have joined the PLU because we welcome everyone to join us. I welcome you home. We want people to be happy in their country and love their country. I want you to elect leaders who can move this country forward.” He added.
The atmosphere at the event was electric, exciting and glamorous as PLU supporters thronged the venue in party attires to celebrate their leader’s appointment as Army Chief by the Commander-in-Chief.

Supporters were also thrilled with performances by top musicians from Kampala including Big Size Bebe Cool among others.
