Marraquetas succeeded! On the first night of Expocruz 2023, In total, they sold 13,700 Battle Breads, and gave away 300 more. Served with a piece of cheese and a cup of coffee.
There is no doubt that Marraquetas conquered the Santa Cruz public again, because of the 14,000 loaves of bread that were prepared for sale inside the fair, not a single one was left, as the director of the fair, Nathaly Solari, said, the office of the mayor of La Paz designated for the sale of marraquetas.
“13,700 Marraquetas sold, but only 300 received a cheese and a coffee”Nathaly Solari reports on the sale of bread in the pavilion called “La Paz de Mil Colores”.
However, the official confirmed that marraquetas will continue to be sold during the ten days of the fair, saying: Another batch of 14,000 loaves of bread will be sold this Saturday Produced in the city of La Paz. Sales will begin at 4:00 p.m.
It is worth noting that, according to the director, the cost of marraquetas is 10 units/15 bolivianos, which is due to the production costs and the costs of air and land transportation from the city of La Paz to Expocruz.
This is the second consecutive year that the city of La Paz has sold a large number of Marraquetas in the city of Santa Cruz within the framework of Expocruz. Last year, thousands of Marraquetas, also known as battle bread, were sold.
However, in this version, in addition to marraquetas, in a pavilion dedicated to La Paz, fresh Creole cheese and coffee are sold, the three components of a traditional La Paz breakfast that can now be tasted by the public in Santa Cruz.
It is worth mentioning that the La Paz Pavilion also exhibited other products of 37 entrepreneurs and businessmen, showcasing the culture of the government headquarters.
The samples were spread throughout the stand, as there were replicas of the most iconic places in La Paz, such as the San Francisco Church, some well-known buildings, and a replica of the cable car. Some samples will also be available, such as a mini entry of Gran Poder or one of the Verbena Paceña.
The pavilion was inaugurated on Friday, September 22 at 7:00 pm and will remain open until October 1, the closing day of Expocruz, and into next year.
