Tore Strømøy finishes the race at NRK

Tore Strømøy has had a contractor contract with NRK since 2013. NRK wrote in a statement to NTB that on Monday both parties agreed to end the matter.

– Tore Strømøy has always been an important image for NRK and has great appeal. Eivind Undrum Jacobsen, regional editor of NRK Midt, says it is right to end the cooperation now.

Regional Director Marius Lillelien thanked Strømøy for his efforts at NRK over the years.

– For more than 30 years, he has made his mark in many public arenas with success. “We wish him the best of luck for the future”, says Lillelien.

NTB has contacted Strømøy, who referred to Jacobsen, the regional editor.

Hoiby Broadcasting

– I think we are too ill-equipped to have the time to go through the ethical pitfalls. Editor-in-Chief May Reppen said, “I have asked that we must wait on the case until we have a better understanding.”

Stromoi also gave a radio interview to Gjert Ingebrigtsen.

But in the radio interview Ingebritsen made no mention of the prosecution of Jeter, despite being asked about the “management” around him and his relationship with his son Jacob.

He also asked about the relationship between the running coach and his son, Jakob Asserson Ingebrigtsen, but did not mention the indictment filed in April against Gjert Ingebrigtsen for violence against one of his six other children.

Bam Segut

Last fall, NRK screened the documentary series “Ingen elsker Bamsegutt”. In the series, presenter Strømoi tells the story of a man who receives disability benefits, his Filipino wife and their son. The family was unable to return home from the Philippines due to trouble with the Norwegian authorities.

It eventually became known that the man had a moral conviction against him from 1991, which NRK knew, but they deliberately omitted this information from the series. NRK eventually withdrew the series, which was subsequently rejected on multiple grounds by Pressens Faglige Utvalg (PFU).

Long career with NRK

Strømøy has been working for NRK since 1986, when he worked as a radio reporter at NRK Trøndelag.

Strømoy is probably best known for the popular TV show “Tore på sporet”, which has been on Norwegian TV screens for many years. There, people who have lost touch with their families for various reasons are reunited.

He was named “TV Personality of the Year” in 1996, 1997 and 2000. Therefore, since 2013, he is no longer a formal employee of NRK, but has signed a contractor contract.
