There will be showers in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. A few showers are likely in the North Western province.
Showers or thundershowers may occur in many other parts of the island in the evening or at night. Some areas may see heavy rainfall of more than 50 mm.
The general public is advised to take precautions against local strong winds, lightning and other weather disasters during thunderstorms to minimize losses.
