Today in Bitola, the first goal of the first season of the best football league in independent Macedonia was scored.

Shooter Presilski is in the bottom row, fourth from right to left (coach first)

Very early on, in front of two thousand spectators at the “Pod Tumbe Cafe” stadium in Bitola, in the fourth minute of the match between Pelister and Rudar from Probishtip, Bruno Presilski scored the first goal of the new MFL level of Independence Macedonia.

A year earlier, on September 8, 1991, Macedonia declared its independence from Yugoslavia and Macedonian clubs finished the 1991/1992 season in the Yugoslav league. At the same time, the football pyramid system was being designed so that in August 1992 the league adventure of independent Macedonia – the 1992/1993 season – would begin.

On August 23, 1992, the first round of the new Macedonian Football League was played, with the following results:

Vardarski (Bohdanqi) – Slogan of the Southern University Alliance (Skopje) 0:0
fighter
(Wales) – Tikvish (Kavadarci) 2:2
Macedonia
(Skopje) – Belasica (Strumica) 0:0
Pelister
(Bitola) – Miner (Probability Tips) 5:0
victory
(stamp) – Vardar (Skopje) 1:1
Metallurgist
(Skopje) – Silicone rubber (Kratovo) 2:0
Salsa
(Kamenica, Macedonia) -FCSU (Skopje) 2:1
this time
(Corn on the cob) – Tex (Tetovo) 3:0
Balkans
(Skopje) – Bregalnica (pin) 2:1

As you can see, there were as many as 18 clubs participating at that time, while today there are 12. In the end, Vardar became the champion with 21 points ahead of Silex and Balkan, while Metalurg, Bregalnica, Tetex and Vardarski were eliminated from the group stage. League. At that time, a win could get 2 points.

First goal

In these 9 games, 22 goals were scored, an average of just over 2 goals per game, 2.44 to be exact. Bitola Perliste striker, 19-year-old youngster Bruno Presilski, went down in history as the first goal of the first MFL with a shot from about 20 meters in the 4th minute. , not so strong – as he once said – the net of the visiting team from Probishtip shook. According to The New Macedonia, filmed by MacedonianFootball.com, the goal was scored “with the help of goalkeeper Paparov, who first caught the ball and then threw it into the net”.

Unfortunately, there is no video of this historic goal on the internet. Perhaps it exists somewhere in the MRT archives, and the MRT will then play and review the highlights of the match. Maybe there is a recording by Pelister, maybe FFM, so we hope that one day they will decide to search their archives and publicly announce Presilski’s goal so that it remains as a video memory for future generations.
