Mexico City (apro) – The President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reports that from October 1 next year the call for submissions and registrations for the three new social programs announced during the campaign will begin, providing some details in this regard.
These include financial support for women aged 60 to 64, universal scholarships for students in public basic schools, and screening and home medical assistance for the elderly and disabled.
This Tuesday, after a meeting with Cabinet members on education, health and well-being at her transition house, Morenosta said registration for the new health plan will begin on October 1, the same day her administration begins.
Regarding support for women aged 60 to 64, he recalled that the first phase will start with support for women aged 63 to 64 in 2025. Registration will be done through modules and their location will be reported later.
Regarding universal scholarships for public school students, the former head of the Mexico City government reiterated that the first phase of the program will begin in secondary schools and the corresponding procedures will be carried out directly in educational institutions.
At this point, he stressed, the resource will be “given to the mother so that they have ownership of the card, unless for some reason the mother is not present, then it will be owned by the father or guardian”.
Regarding the home health care scheme for the elderly and disabled, he said screening will begin in October to assess the type of treatment required by each of the 12 million beneficiaries.
To this end, he announced that recruitment will also be open for about 20,000 doctors, nurses and other health professionals, to be interviewed starting in January 2025.
