Geert Eeringa has absolutely no idea who put it into his head or what that person was supposed to do with it. On Sunday evening, one or more thieves stole a dolphin from his more than a hundred-year-old boat carousel in the center of Oss. The amusement park entrepreneur from Drenthe is devastated. “I stand here smiling, but like a peasant with a toothache.”
On Monday morning, the operators of the amusement park in 2e Exloërmond discovered that only two of the three blue and white statues remained.
De Drent traveled all over the Netherlands with his children’s attraction. Also on the Hevel River in the center of Oss, many children sat in boats sailing in real water. Eringa dressed up as the captain of a real boat and fooled the children several times with his ball and tassel. Whoever could grab the brush should get a free ride.

Eringa wants to know who stole his dolphin and why. “I’m just really angry and sad that they would do something like this. Go into a children’s attraction in the middle of the night and take something,” Eringa said. “I hope they can bring him back. I really want him back.”
The operator estimates that replacing the special dolphin will cost about 700 to 800 euros. So he hopes the “funny pants” can bring the dolphin back.
