Christina Rose and her friends were nearing the end of a two-week trip to Iceland. They rented a small camper and saved money wherever they could, such as cooking meals instead of eating out.
Maybe they have a little too much savings, or maybe that’s what they say when they end up starving in a rural town with no restaurants or grocery stores.
“We found the only grocery store in town. It’s a self-service store. It’s the only food we could get. That’s what happens when you travel on a budget that’s a little too tight,” laughed Christina Ross. This is an old telephone booth that was converted into a small self-service store in Reholal in 2021.

But no worries, they then found an open bonus store to buy food for the next day.
