They reported that some elderly people were “punched and kicked” and their property was stolen in El Alto

Elderly people in the city of El Alto held a protest march in the streets of the city of El Alto, demanding that their rights be respected because some of their relatives are being abused.

Carla Flores, director of intergenerational affairs in the El Alto mayor’s office, reported that several elderly people arrived with signs of violence and that others had their property stolen.

“They are being abused. According to our statistics of 100% of the cases we receive, 50% of them are abuse, which manifests as punching, kicking and even broken arms.”

Therefore, dozens of elderly people took to some streets of the city of El Alto to ask their families and citizens to raise awareness and respect their rights.
