Caracas, August 30, 2024. – Following the power outage that affected much of the country today, the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace (MPPRIJP) of Popular Power issued a press release stating that: The Vice President of the National Electric System (SEN), Political, Civil and Peace Security, Cap. Diosdado Cabello, announced that the law will be fully applicable to those who carried out the attacks in the early hours of Friday, August 30, 2024.
The minister insisted: “Justice will come to you, rest assured”
Likewise, he said that “the level of desperation of those who oppose the stability of the country has led to this difficulty that affects the well-being and tranquility of the Venezuelan people.” He added: “They are in a desperate situation, and this week they tried to launch an attack on our people, but they could not because we responded immediately; because of their desperation, it is cruel, everything is normal here.”
Likewise, he stressed that electricity supply has been gradually restored in parts of the city of Caracas.
The ministerial information does not currently provide details of the elements of the conviction, nor does it provide any indication that the above authorities may believe that the events that occurred were the product of deliberate, planned and executed sabotage or attack by “subjects who endanger the stability of the country.”
