Man arrested, charged with robbery at Guaynabo gas station
This afternoon, the Bayamon Trial Court (TPI) filed a robbery charge (Article 189 C/P) against 28-year-old Raúl Alberto Rivera Álvarez for an incident that occurred last Saturday, July 6, in the Bayamon Municipal Trial Court. The Puma Energy gas station is located on Highway 199 (Las Cumbres Avenue) in Guaynabo.
According to the investigation conducted by Special Agent Wildanil Robles of the Robbery Unit of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Bayamon, Rivera Álvarez allegedly arrived at the establishment in the early hours of the morning in a gray Toyota Corolla. He entered the store, gave the cashier a threatening note demanding that she give him money, then took cigarettes and $650 in cash before fleeing the scene.
The man was arrested yesterday in the Cucharillas de Cataño neighborhood.
The case was consulted by Prosecutor Yarrely Sánchez Courtney, who directed the above charges to be filed.
He appeared before Bayamon Court of First Instance Judge Milagros Muñiz Mas, who, after hearing the evidence, found cause for his arrest and set a $15,000 bond to keep him free until his preliminary hearing scheduled for July 23, 2024.
