Two years after Bazoum Mohammed came to power, his regime was overthrown in a coup on July 26, 2023. Since then, the struggle within the PNDS-Tarayya has intensified. The two camps of hostile brothers each use all means to inflict maximum harm, injury and destruction on the other.
Supporters of Bazoum directly accuse former President of the Republic, Mohameddou Issoufou, of being behind the events of July 26, 2023. The National Defense Party Council (CNSP), and in particular its president, General Abdourahamane Tiani, will be, quite simply, the armed arm of Mohameddou Issoufou. Harsh words are used to describe Mohameddou Issoufou, who yesterday was elevated to the status of a quasi-god by the same fanatical activists. Such strong and disgusting rhetoric is used against Bazoum and his supporters, who would have been appointed president by Mohameddou Issoufou and who would have opposed Bazoum. Basically, each family accuses the other of ingratitude, felony and betrayal. Bazoum will betray Issoufou and the party by removing PNDS executives from the same region as Issoufou, while Issoufou will betray Bazoum by inciting a coup against Bazoum.Nigerien citizens who are not PNDS activists, whose concerns are far removed from these fratricidal wars within the party, which has long been seen as founded on a common ideology, strong convictions and unbreakable friendships among all, no longer know the contest between Issoufou and Bazoum, who have been given the title of betrayers in the mouths of the resurrectors since the morning of July 26, 2023, repentant and lost. Meanwhile, within the PNDS, the fratricidal struggle is in full swing. Even the factions have gone so far as to send clarification missions at home and abroad to accuse on the one hand and refute on the other the accusations of the opposing camp. The visit and speech of Pape Hamza a few days ago in Côte d’Ivoire certainly fall into this framework. But while wanting to exonerate his godfather Issoufou and portray him as a great man for whom even the whole of Africa is too small to be president, a man so great that he could not lower himself to speak to humanity, Pape has achieved the opposite of the goal of his mission. He said that the statements and revelations he made were devastating to Mohammedu Issoufou and if he had the NDF and one region of the country, a coup would have been launched against him. The entire argument of this young man revolves around the greatness of Issoufou and if we listen carefully, in the same speech, he only promotes one region and one category of Nigeriens. That is why for him, all Nigerians and the entire world must be grateful to this man. Because while treating most Nigeriens as second-class citizens, a single category of citizens is promoted? Pure madness. Papu Hamza was so obsessed with flattering the ego of the godfather in his speech that he spared no effort to attack and even insult the entire military while accusing Tiani of strong collusion with Mohammedu Issoufou. “Soji, ko dan ka ne, bey da amana (Soldier, he is not trustworthy even if he is your son)”, he said at the beginning of his speech. Besides those sectarian statements that seriously undermined social cohesion, enough serious remarks were made that he must answer for before a competent court. However, according to Pape, it was these soldiers who had no choice but to hand over power to the PNDS, Mahamadou Issoufou, for what divine reason and how we do not know, since the President of the Republic is a citizen elected by these fellow citizens through direct universal suffrage, explicitly through democratic, inclusive, free and transparent elections. These statements discredit the CNSP and are devastating for Mahamadou Issoufou. If these statements are proven to be true, they must not continue without legal action and clarification by the CNSP.
