This is the prediction made in a report by GBTA (Global Business Travel Association).
What does it mean?
1. Work is no longer a place
2. More and more companies are no longer considering location in their hiring and HR policies
3. More and more people choose to work for themselves to gain location freedom
4. People’s lifestyles are changing from a fixed lifestyle to a “mobile” lifestyle that values experiences more than material things
5. In addition to flexible working hours and working from home, people are more concerned about flexibility
Who does this appeal to?
There are three main camps.
A: Generation Z no longer wants to sit in an office and work from nine to five
B. Early millennials have fewer responsibilities and want to see the world but don’t want to give up their careers
C. Generation X, who are more established in their careers but are looking for a new career change or something more adventurous
I talked to people in all three camps, and I was surprised by how many people wanted more location freedom.
Whether it’s from a company or by working for yourself online.
The number 1 billion says it all.
